Hi all,
I've been waiting 2 months for my order from Design 911 to be completed.
Has anyone else ever had issues with orders from them taking so long.
I get the occasional email stating the parts they have and parts pending, but it looks like I'll be waiting until next year for the order to be completed.

Yep, been there some years ago.
If one part of your order is out of stock, they hold the whole order.
I’ve complained, but the only answer I had was to phone them and place the order, leaving out the back order parts for later ordering…
Irritating!

One of the main issues is they allow you to order and pay for items, they do not even have in stock!
Plenty of members have had similar issues with them, not good.

They order the item when you order. Pretty frustrating. Just order it from Porsche, probably cheaper too !

I ordered an AOS breather for my 987.2 Boxster a few years ago oddly from OPC, and it was much cheaper than anyone, genuine part of course, but even in stock!

D911 offer a one-stop-shop but their system as said does not tell you it is out of stock, so you click and pay then are advised OOS, delivers might be estimated.

I think they now show prices including VAT, another of my pet irritations with many suppliers dealing with Joe Public.

Type911 at least do advise on the part if out of stock.

It’s often cheaper to order from your OPC or even Rosepassion!
If the order including delivery is under £135 you don’t pay import duty on Rosepassion orders.
Had to chase D911 on an order delayed by three lock tabs not being in stock but they had others exactly the same in stock with a different part number.

I did get a lot of parts from Rose Passion before Brexit and found their service very good.
I am also on the Porsche Classic register and buy parts from my local Porsche dealer with a discount. Roger Bray is only 15 minutes down the road so use his services quite a bit, especially ordering parts from Stoddard as he has big deliveries from them which helps.
I might make this my last order from D911.

I keep going back to design911, but taking your order then telling you afterwards it's a month wait is really irritating. I find that if you follow up by phone or email, it helps speed up your order. Also, if you don't follow up, I've had orders seemingly forgotten about for months.

In no particular order I get parts from: Type 911, Heritage Parts, Roger Bray, Porsche, or one of the European suppliers - Maria Habeck (MHTeile), Rose Passion, etc ...

Just to balance my opinion above..
If I'm after normal parts, oil filters and the such they seem good in my experience. They stock such things, but if you want something special, ie linkless timing chains for a 3.2 flat 6 then the order is taken, but a risk it is not in stock and then you wait...
I got caught out on my Lola engine rebuild this way, but got stung far worse by USA suppliers.

My OPC is 20 mins away, so should try them more often.

Type911 sell parts that are better than Des911, esp the silicon sealed rocker covers for the aircooled engines (for example), or at lest the last time I ordered some 12 months ago.

Today, I can't see why a web site does not have an flag that is triggered when stock is gone and an estimate date for availability.

To balance the negative feedback for D911 above, I’ve used them for years and never had any issues always helpful and communication is good.

However I’m using the trade dept which sounds like a different experience to a retail customer unfortunately.
