All info regarding the event will be shared properly on there but wanted to not clog that up with chatter and build up, so this post is just for that, anything people want to ask or suggest and for all t-shirt orders etc which Ian has kindly said he will get printed up again, so the main post can be used to draw people in to attend and not get bombarded with chatter

So to start, Clive (Anglophone1) has done an awesome job on sorting the event already and I gotta say I think it’s going to be an exciting one! I love what he has planned! So I’ve already started on sticker and t-shirt designs and wanted to share the one I’ve been happiest with so far. I am happy for suggestions again though.



So this is the sticker idea, and the t shirt would be to do that larger on the back with the usual DDK Fuchs on the front left breast area.

I’m planning on meeting up / talking with Ollie at Caffeine and Machine in January to discuss some ideas for the Saturday. Have spoken with Phil already and they are excited to have us back and we have already discussed some ideas for the future going forward if we can keep making the DDK events successful.

Edit: So get your interest registered on this thread, and get talking to all DDK’ers and make sure they too come along for an unforgettable weekend of DDK.

As I said in announcement we'll be back in January to start collating actual attendance and specific requirements - hopefully via on online form on the event page so please keep that free so that all vital info is visible and close together - we'll repost it there to keep it fresh.

We hope to be there, which car will depend on the cut-off date, it varies from year to year.

Annie Goodyear told me last week my ‘73 was old enough but not the cut off date which I think is 1975, could be wrong!

Classic Nostalgia is a full weekend event at Shelsey - we are there Sunday.It’s a hillclimb meeting for classics - so you would need to have all required kit - race licence etc and enter the correct event, although your 356 will clearly be early enough.

I am sure 911 hillclimber Graham can post what is required for us?

As for hotel and other parts of the event (all optional- you can choose what you like - whole weekend not necessary) we will have an online form in January so we can collate who is doing what and register you.
If you have selected hotel and dinner we will send you a PM with details on how to book - we won’t publish details on the forum for obvious security reasons.
If coming to Caffeine & Machine you will need to book a slot per car -we’ll let you know when (Gareth is going to try and get a discounted rate)
For Shelsey Walsh you need to buy tickets per person- we have a good discounted rate and will post the link in January .
All these instructions will be posted on the Events thread - not here!

Thanks Clive, re the hillclimb I thought it was going to be a trackday sort of status, pull on your helmet and let rip, but I may just get serious and get a licence, it's abouit time!

All cars competing must have, if a road car, MoT etc (bring proof) and will be subject to formal scrutiny inc NOISE. Be sure the car is quiet, ie will pass MoT with ease. Excess noise will stop you running.

You will need need a full MSUK race license!

If you get an entry there will be Final Instructions which probably will contain the following. Make sure you actually read them!

The car must be safe and belts etc good. Race numbers will be allocated to the car BUT you have to provide your own stick-on numbers on the car before scrutineering, one each side and one on the bonnet/headlamp etc.
Side numbers must be about 9" tall, most will affix to the rear side window.
They must contrast to the space they are affixed to, so if on side glass white numbers.
If on a black door, white numbers, if on a white door black numbers..you get the idea.
Empty the car of anything loose inc the spare tyre!
I'm not sure if you need to fit a timing strut on the front of the car to trigger the beam, but I will fit mine as the car has the mounting point already from days past.

If your battery is easily exposed (ie under the bonnet) wrap some yellow PVC tape to the neg terminal(s). If you crash badly the marshals will cut the earth lead!
Add also on some 1" wide masking tape the direction to turn the ignition key to 'OFF' so the marshals can isolate the fuel system.

Shelsley hill is a hill to be respected. This event is not a larking about place, and parts of the hill are very demanding if at speed, but max speed will be about 100 mph in a well driven GT3.

Be sure your dress code is all limbs covered, no Tee shirts and shorts (all about fire risk), closed cars need the driver to have a full face or open face helmet (that is undamaged), open car drivers (driven on the hill as such) must have full face helmet or open with goggles.
If in doubt at all about all this, call Annie Goodyear at the Shelsley Walsh Office for advice, she is a racer herself and knows what is the minimum required.

Finally, make sure you remove those racing numbers or cover then well when driving from the hill, and do not take your hill enthusiasm on the hill onto the road home, people locally WILL be watching you.

Remember this is not a competitive event, so you don't HAVE to go flat out...
