Somebody with very deep pockets gets Porsche to build his dream 993-based Speedster as part of the Special Wishes programme...

Excuse my ignorance, but isn’t that just a cab, with some fibre glass ( probably carbon fibre these days ) cowling over where the fabric roof once sat?

Also, you mention 991-3 - is it a 991 made to look like a 993 ? - if so, fair enough, probably quite a lot of work gone into that …

Corrected - it's a 993. Fat fingers on small keyboard...

As for the cab/speedster bit, the details are as supplied by Porsche in a press release.

also :
speedster windscreen too ( no A pillars )
Specific speedster door glass
different roof mechanism as it should still have a fabric roof of sorts , I assume similar to the 964 speedster roof

etc

Personally I think a narrow 964 Speedster , lowered and on 18" is the best looking of the air-cooled 911 speedsters ( obviously the 356 speedster is the best looking of all speedsters )

964/993 speedster share same components for roof. Is there any pics with roof up on this car? I believe roof frame, side glass and windscreen frame is NLA but there are a few parts worldwide. The chassis has unique strengtheners and is double skinned in certain area for rigidity. 9m built a few reps and used my 964 Speedster to understand differences on recreate. Porsche built this I believe so if there is a roof and door glass etc there either one off or going into classic parts I’d presume?
