DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

Me and a friend of mine have decided to drive my 1964 356c back to Stuttgart to visit the Porsche 356 museum and enjoy some fun along the way over a 5 day trip. I’m having trouble finding European breakdown cover for the trip, can anyone recommend a good provider for this.
The car is near concours condition and has been fully rebuilt accordingly.

Any recommendations appreciated

Check with your insurance provider. I’m insured with classic line on all my cars and have euro cover included

Haggerty seem to offer it as standard ?

I have mine both with Locktons now and its included. Last year I bought a 1997 Boxster and had to get seperate euro cover as my insurer at the time didn't have euro breakdown. Due to its age being over 20 years it wasn't straight forward, I ended up getting cover from the AA. I think it was just over £100 for a week. Obviously check the small print on age of vehicle.

We have RAC cover, allied to the VSCC, a long standing policy that I'm not sure is available to new customers. Check the small print, there are snags: one of which is that the vehicle can take c8 weeks to be repatriated and then arrives with 20 mins notice. Thankfully we've not yet had to use ours in that way yet, though quite a few friends have. You get no updates on progress, and have no idea where your pride and joy is. On the upside, i've never heard about any losses from open cars or damage done in transit....keep us posted on what you find or choose please! W

Insured to drive in europe comprehensive etc, just as you get covered for driving in the UK.
Most companies have this in the policy for the UK.

Breakdown cover incase the car gets in trouble, clutch popped etc.

For the latter, I habitually use the AA as the cover is more comprehensive. Can become ££££££ but actually called on it in Austria last year while touring in the 2009 Boxster.
Service was really really good, all fixed in less than 4 working hours. Car went on 5 pots on a Sunday afternoon, we were on 6 by 11.00am Monday.

Most of the Breakdown companies only cover cars between 10 to 15 years old for European Cover, unless you have a classic car insurance policy with a reputable firm.
Hagerty cover you in Europe, Classic Line and Adrian Flux.

If the car has just been rebuilt, have you got it insured yet for road use, if not consider one of the insurance companies that do a classic car policy with European breakdown cover, or if it is, consider cancelling that one, and taking another policy out with one of the above, as it may work out cheaper that way.

It is all personal choice, or preference, but if you can not get breakdown cover at a reasonable cost, it may be the only alternative?

And with my Chubb policy - have used it a couple of times- invaluable!!
