Just back from the 49th 356 international meet in sunny Portugal. Indeed all was sunny apart from my windscreen that got smashed. I have located a replacement screen but I need a good guy to install it. Anybody have any recommendations for expert installers in the Southern area???

how was the drive / engine / final assembly / event? Any pics?

OMG where did they get that dreadful music emerge from, must have nicked it from the BBC, bang on!
I know what would happen if I tried to fit one myself, on the last push and thump the screen would split from corner to corner. I have fitted a couple in my past but that was Ford Anglia days and not £450 Porsche screen days so it's got to go to the experts.
The Portugal trip was awesome, my 2.8 engine was equally awesome but incredibly thirsty and v sorry, no pics cos I can't get the buggers to download. I understand there is about 700 on a facebook link somewhere. I shall be searching for that.

Not exactly the cheeriest guy in the world at the moment. I haven't been able to drive my 356 since I had the windscreen smashed in Lisbon when I was at the 356 Intl meet. I've ordered a new screen from Pilkington who used to be based in Kent. Unfortunately they have upped sticks and moved to Finland. Not a problem I thought until I learnt that all industry comes to a grinding halt in Finland during the month of July due to their national holiday period. So there will be no chance for getting my new screen until possibly mid August and then it will require specialist fitting. I have a hill climb then a track day booked for the end of August so I'm praying for some windscreen action before then.

PRS might have one if you get stuck

Late to the thread I'm afraid, I bought my T5B screen through my local OPC. Roger Bray didn't have one, and PRS, who did are a long way away, and as Paul said, 'Its not an ideal thing to post'.....The Porsche supplied one was competitively priced, by Pilkington (with a Pilkington mark slightly badly placed). It is, however much more transparent than my old one. I seem to remember it came from stock in Germany in about 3 days, but it was 7 or 8 years ago.....W

Thanks Winston, what I should have done is just ordered a clear screen which I could have obtained from a couple of sources. Stoddards list a tinted set which was a factory option way back when and they can supply, but, it's a green tint, I want a blue top tint, and, I'm still waiting on Pilkingtons to supply. It's been over 3 months now and I'm getting pretty miffed off but I'm driving at the Shere hill climb plus I'll be at Classics at the Castle with my busted screen and just hope I don't get a tug from the blue meanies

Just heard, my new screen should be in from Finland end of September. Only four months from original order, well done Pilkington.
