Does anyone know if any UK company is producing a convertible D replica.

I have seen there are a number in the states, but unsure about the UK.

Also has anyone any experience of importing a replica convertible D from the states, these are made on a tubular chassis and not a VW chassis which may be more difficult given it is not registered as a classic car.

Appreciate any help.

There was a guy building a convertible D replica based on a Speedster Clinic Speedster body that he fitted a genuine convertible D windscreen too and modified the scuttle to fit. If you follow the link then you will find a great build thread that gives all the details. There are also a few old convertible D replicas about that were built by an old kit car company in the UK but they are no longer made, can't remember the name of the company but I do know of a guy that has one just up the road from me...
