The speedometer on my late '85 Carrera SSE is kaput so I thought I would find out the cost of a new one. I couldn't make much sense out of Design 911 website so I thought I'd phone them. Unfortunately their line was engaged all day. No problem but in the meantime I'll see what the main dealer wants for this item. Through to the parts department gave them the reg number so they could see the car's VIN, gave them the part number on the side of the gauge and the maximum mph shown on the face which was 160. Hmm, that's an early one came the response, I was put on hold, I waited then was told that is very early, I don't think we go back that far. Ok, thank you, well so much for Porsche Classic, I suppopse they only go back as far as 996's now. 356? no chance.
