Front bumper installation

Hello,

Would someone be so kind to share a few pictures of how the front bumper bracket fits to the bumper. As I seem to have lost some pictures.

The brackets that fit to the battery boxes. Am I right in saying the other bolts are for the over riders. And if I remember rightly loosely fit all before tightening?

Sorry. Hope you can help

Maybe this will help. The bracket only fits in one place. Only one of the two bracket to bumper fixing bolts is accessible from under the hood (think its the top one) through the big holes in the front panel. These set the horizonatal (left/right) position of the bumper. I leave the other bolt finger tight so it can slide, and tighten the one that you can get to with an allen key (I have allen head bolts - I think that is standard and probably the only tool that fits). One you have the horizontal position, you have to remove the bumper to tighten the other bolt. I usually go around a few times loosening the side bolts and lifting the bumper until it is snug up against the seal.

Really appreciate your help buddy.

What size are the Allen key bolts, do you have any idea?

Thanks Lee

From the parts catalogue, M10 x 20 (+ washer + lock washer)

PS. I want to edit what I said before about the fitting procedure:

Bolt the L-shaped bumper mounting brackets slightly loosely onto the inside of the bumper so that they slide easily left and right.
Get the 4 bumper mounting bolts ready, 2 per side. These go in from the inside of the car into the captive nuts on the L-shaped bumper mounting brackets
Bonnet up
The bumper is too heavy for one person to lift into place and bolt on - place it up on a plastic crate/box, and add planks of wood or whatever is laying around to lift it to approximately the required mounting height.
Mount it to the car, nip up the bolts enough to allow some movement, centre it (left/right), line the sides up to the wheel arches (front/back), lift it up snugly against the seal and tighten the mounting bolts.

Hey one more thing. The registration panel. It fits with a bolts at the top from body to reg panel. Pushed over the slots on the bumpers. Are there any form of rubber washers used to stop the paint from rubbing. It’s bolted on the bottom lip also but my car was just held together with bolts washers and nuts.

Thanks Lee
