Hi everyone,
New member just joined, and thanks for accepting me. I've finally scratched my itch and recently got myself a Porsche 914, year 1974, 1.8 with twin carbs. Fantastic car, and been a good few runs now, but still trying to get used to the gear change

there's a few really minor job's to do which I'll get to over the winter months, just enjoying her now. I've also built a 356 Speedster replica which I finished in May this year. 1641cc type 1 engine with twin carbs. Also got a hardtop for her I'm finishing off just now, for some winter driving, so plenty to keep me busy, cheers Colin

Your Speedster rep looks great. The Speedster shape is hard to beat in steel or any other material. Well done completing that it must be fun to drive as a real one on current roads would be worrying at times taking into account the current values!

Thanks everyone for making me feel at home here. The 914 is my first "real" porsche

and loving her, and the road holding. She's a fantastic car in great condition and I feel lucky to have found her. The Speedster I built from a kit, beetle based with balljoint front and irs rear and with being quite light she goes well too. Leather interior and square weave carpets to try and replicate the original, which I could never afford, and probably be afraid to drive. The replica is great as I don't worry too much about it, but she does turn heads. Even the 914 is the same, with most people not knowing what it is

cheers

Hi Colin
Good to see another Ayrshire based owner. I'm loving the 70's vibe of the 914 with her colour and Tartan seats and the Spider looks lovely. I'm "Over the Hill" in Dundonald. If you see me around in Helga (my 912) or my old Merc Estate, flag me down (an approach used to good effect by Mike).
PS you will gather by my late response that I don't spend much time on forums.
Regards
Knoxy
