mystery clip on rear lid damper

Hi all,

Knowing how some of you like a challenge I thought I'd post this.

It broke today as I was removing it to clean up the damper - the larger circle of the clip fits around the thicker part of the damper and I would assume the smaller circle held a wire or pipe of some sort. I don't think there was anything held in it when I dismantled the car but I could be wrong.

From a US 1973 T CIS. It didn't have a rear wiper but did once have aircon. I have looked at the rear lid setup and aircon diagrams in the '73 PET but don't see anything like this.

Any thoughts on what this is needed for before I spend time trying to source it?

Cheers,

Al.

Looks more like a tandem vacuum/screen washer type hose clip that you find later VAG and many other makes. Don't think it's vintage Porsche at all.

Yup, not vintage.

Tell me what the two diameters are and I’ll have a look in my box of stuff, definitely got a few similar things.

Thanks Gents, looks like one less part for me to replace then!

Gary, thanks for the offer but if not needed then not needed.

Best,

Al
