JUst brought my 1971 911T out oif long term stoirage to use for the summer. Tyres are now very old so need to replave.
On investigation found it is fitted with 14" wheels but on checking the spare which i do not think has ever been used found it to be a 6J x15" with 195/60 tyre fitted.
Does anyone have a 14" wheel to sell or better still would like to swap for a 15" wheel in almost unmarked condition

I'd swap out to 15s if you can, either find some genuine or there are some good replicas out there these days. They're too soft and squidgy on 14"s, the handling will be massively improved going to 15s.

Often wondered why the handling was crap but that explains it. Probably my best bet is to get a swap on all my 14" for 15". Having said that at my age my competative driving has long gone its now just the pleasure of driving a classic and that awesome exhaust note.

Crappy old tyres won't help even if you stick with 14s. I'm pretty sure 14s where Porsche answer to softening the ride/comfort pack for some US markets/owners.

On my 912e I went from 14s to 16s and it was night and day. Sold the 14s and recovered most the cost for the 16s.

True, I think it happened once last century.

Well that settles it. I have looked at the price of used 15" and the price of used 14" and there is a huge gap.
For the limited driving i do these days lobbing out £2k on wheels is not justified so 14" wheels it is.
If i dont like the ride i will just take out my 356 instead.

You can put 6 inch tyres on if concerned about fitting under wheel arches.

Thank you for your input. I would not fit replica wheels as i believe in staying standard origional so it was 6J x 15 i was looking at. Anyway tyres now sorted and on the road allbeit with another slight problem of the car pulling to the left as per my other post.
