I can resist everything except temptation...

I’m wondering why it never has any number plates showing in all the images I’ve seen? Nor any provision to fit them?

It's only done a handful of miles since engine build and some paint fettling. Owner made decision to sell before getting it back from that, hence is not planning to drill holes in case the next custodian prefers stick-ons.
I've seen it with its rear plate held on to the bumper with cable ties... I imagine a more elegant solution would be feasible!

Another slightly unwise purchase, I fear, but I want to try a 356 and this one ticked a lot of boxes for me.

I have promised faithfully that I will sell (at least) one car, and the '69 S is nearest to the exit.

Congrats on the new motor. I liked the look of this one when I saw it at Hedingham

Initial plans? Well, I’ve never owned a 356, and this one works as-is, so start by driving it around to see if I like it. I’m grateful to have the opportunity. In this case the man maths says this car was decent value, so if I do decide to make a swift exit, it “shouldn’t” be too ruinous.

Noob questions and naiive observations to follow. Since it only has 60 bhp, I will refrain from pointing out that it’s a bit slow.

If you find it too slow there’s always the option to get a few more ponies by upgrading to 912 spec or go further still and pop a polo engine in there.

We’ll done Richard - glad you found the car you wanted. Sounds like it’s been ‘well bought’ too. Settle back and enjoy it!
