OT: Record Deck

My daughter is in the process of buying her first house and has declared an interest in vinyl and wants a deck. I have quite a lot of spare hifi gear, so can oblige. However on getting out my trusty Thorens TD280 from the loft after many years of not being used, it's a bit on its last legs - the motor is very noisy, the start button is always in start, the electronics that hold the tonearm lift down are somewhat flaky and the lid doesn't hold up!

So I thought, there must be many unused good record decks in lofts that people have no need of...

All ideas welcome

Cheers
Graham

If you get no joy there's always plenty on ebay - I picked up a nice Rega Planar 3 during lockdown, and also sent away my old Mission cyrus amp for a full refurb.

Save yourself the bother. A new deck that can also record straight to MP3 is around £130
