Anyone on here sold a car through BAT?

AT seems to be a good way to market a car in the USA, particularly the unusual, the modified etc.
Has anyone here first hand experience of the process?

A friend of mine sells loads of cars through there. I dont know the detail, but it seems very positive. If you have a particular question about it I could ask him Graham?

It was about the race car I have, all a bit special, even all a bit Marmite, but things are more open minded in the USA.
Track only car.

Being a keen watcher of BAT, I think what you see is what you get really. Works well for US cars, the banter about each car seems reasonably well behaved and my interactions on the few things I have contemplated buying has been very normal. If you are selling a car from the UK to the US (if that is what you are thinking), I think that is possible, even if rare. I have only seen a few UK cars on there, 1 or 2. But some things seem to fetch stronger prices on BAT generally than I expect - namely things like Caterhams and perhaps Lotuses and race cars.
So selling the Lola might work out, although the buyer will be factoring shipping and import duties (if there are any) into the equation.
I doubt you'll find any actual experiences of UK cars through BAT as there have been so few. But you never know!
But the important question is why on earth you'd be thinking of selling??? Although if it could compete in historic circuit racing, I might quite fancy it! But I'm not sure it can or where it can - that's assuming it would work as a circuit racer!

Track only car.

I don't think you would have any difficulty selling that through the normal channels in this country, Graham!

No so sure Jonathan/Graham.
The car would need considerable reverse engineering to make it eligible for the circuits which it was designed for.
Might sell in the UK better as a roller, the engine/box are worth a few shillings and sell the chassis to another track day hero or Sports 2000.
My question was slightly fanciful as BAT seems to get the job done.
The normal channels in the UK I doubt would take the car well unless being given away.
The engine is rudely fresh so would replace the 140K engine in the 911 a treat, the box is a bit special and converted to 911 configuration would be a cracker.
Rather like the Honda, pause for thought.
Hill climbing is getting quite pricey nowadays.

Second place is the first loser. I'll be the 15th placed loser, but who cares...

If like me ( and maybe you?) it's all about taking part then it still feels inexpensive and less " macho" compared to any form of circuit racing and more interesting than track days.
Hell - my 924 is not expensive!

I was bringing her to Graham’s hillclimb school day at Loton Park on the way home to Ireland from CLM - not happening now though!

Graham, I think you under-estimate how much someone would pay for your car as an interesting, quirky, totally reliable on the button hillclimb and sprint car. Not everyone wants to win all the time, most of us want a fun weekend with good company and something interesting and reasonably quick to drive.
However, if you want to keep the engine for your 911 (and have the gearbox reverted to 911 spec and installed for hillclimbing!!

), then you have answered your own question.

Go on then Graham - what do you reckon it’s worth?
