911t new owner

Thought I'd introduce myself after perusing the site and asking for thoughts previously.

I now own a 1969 911t.....non Porsche purple metallic.....some of you will have seen at the DDK meet at Greatworth last year....and indeed not liked the colour, perfectly acceptable to me with an eye on having it resprayed back to its original Burgundy (95% sure)
I picked the car up this week from Angus having had front sway bar/UK lights/ClassicRetrofit CDI ignition fitted....great service.

Car is and will stay mostly original, runs on 14in Fuchs, which are the only items I may change perhaps for 15in Steelies.
Still getting use to the starting procedure (I own a Lancia Fulvia S2 and Alfa GT Junior so am used to the fickle nature of older cars). Clearly I will have many more questions to ask over time but for now I'll sign off with photos (couldn't work out how to rotate them!).......cheers:

Almost identical to Brendan’s G reg burgundy 69T !
Nice looking 911. Always loved the ‘earthy’ colours of the day.

Enjoy the ride

Regards
Mike

Thanks all, colour is OK if not everyones taste but front left wing needs a full repaint, right passenger door has some rust to address plus a few other cosmetic marks, grazes, dents....I wanted a driver I was not afraid to use and it fits the bill perfectly.

Welcome, and also welcome to your 'Drive-It!' attitude.
Scars are good, mega shine is sad!

If you need to keep originality to a degree those 14's are very different today, but guess tyre choice is limited?

Tyres are a good point, the 185/70/14 fitted are undersized this becomes clearly obvious when on the motorway. Plenty of life in them so intend to drive the car for a while then fit new 185/14s or look at 15in options.

Welcome to DDK. Nice car, and yes, when you’re ready go for the original burgundy. Classy.
