I’m a new member and have just fulfilled a dream and bought a 73 RS, I have owned a couple of water cooled 911’s but this is my first proper one. Lots to learn ! I live in Buckinghamshire.

A couple of questions...the car has original carpets in it that the previous owner sourced in the last couple of years so I would like to protect them. What are the correct mats for the car ? I’ve seen Cocomats and also these on a US website
https://www.aasesales.com/products/nolo ... ce31&_ss=r Are they the correct one’s ? If so any idea where they can be sourced in Europe ?
Oh and I am thinking of getting a steering wheel spacer as I am relatively tall and have legs better suited to playing rugby than running marathons ! Any recommendations ?

Andy ‘Lightweight911’ on here is a font of knowledge on the RS steering wheels. And extended hub wheel was available from the factory. I’ve no experience of current aftermarket ones though.
As I mentioned on the other thread about seats, make sure yours are set at their lowest if aging trouble with space between your knees and the wheel. Quite a few tall lads on here with the same recaro / Rs wheel set up that have no problem
Coco mats are great ( I have their sisal versions ) .. but weigh a tonne . Others on here will have options for more lightweight mats
If you haven’t got it, the RS book is a great source of info for original spec etc

I’ve got a copy of the RS book thanks...I’ll take a closer look. Seats are on their lowest setting...it’s not bad but think maybe a spacer may make it that little bit better. I dread to think when a period correct steering wheel with more dish/spacer would cost !
