Hi,

I have removed and thrown away the original Borg inserts on my 67, I am still restoring the the car but now I need to move it from its current rented unit (Kicked out by landlord short notice  )

Borg's are hard to find new, I only need them for transport so I can build the hubs and put the wheels on what would be the easiest next option Bilstiens etc.

Unless one of you nice DDK'ers has an old per I can buy or borrow for a day

Substitute the inserts with wood!
Yes, you only need to guide the struts while transporting the car, thus, timber into the strut body, guess 30mm square and about 500mm long so the top will reach the underside of the top mount, and then a good screw with a washer screwed into the end of the wood at the top. Strut will go nowhere, wheels all safe and the car transportable.

Just need a trip to B&Q and some careful measuring. Nothing needs to be accurate so easy to do and effective for what you need?

I transported my car with PVC plumbing "inserts" fitted, drilled hole at the top (on the side) with afew zip-ties through the tower mounts....worked a treat.

Borg or Boge ?

Good luck

Cheers
Chris
