I have seen the one at Williams Crawford. Spent a bit of time looking at it actually and Adrian spent an age talking about it even though it wasn't the car I was looking to buy!

It's not original but it's in decent condition and looks like a lot of fun. It's not to everyone's taste and may offend some purists but I loved it.

Looks like an interesting car but too much money. Doesn't mention matching numbers or an engine build. I think it's too much but maybe I don't know the mkt well

Importing a car from the US is pretty straightforward. If you go this route I'd recommend a pre-purchase inspection by someone stateside who knows 356s as values fluctuate wildly depending on rarity, condition and originality (unlike asking prices which are high irrespective of condition and originality)

Don't forget VAT in your pricing, some discussion here:

Welcome. On your search for the perfect 356, look in on PRS and see what they have to offer.

I absolutly love that ratty blue A at PRS but £90k seems like incredibly strong money, given it's not the original colour or matching numbers, but then prices in the 356 mrket seem to be all over the place.

Agreed, 90k is a lot of money but PRS are honest purveyors of the 356 and their website will serve as an excellent bellwether whilst you survey this fluctuating marketplace.

Beware of attempting to judge 'the market ' by looking at asking prices.......Most of them are silly.....Good luck, W

It would be worth going to see a few cars in person, PRS seam to have a few at the moment, it may narrow your search for a particular model or year. The three cars you have posted are wildly different cars. Good luck with the search!

I know exactly what you mean and have been around old Porsche long enough to "know what I don't know". What would be ideal is the opportunity to pop along to a meet and have a look at some different cars and chat to owners, but in these strange times I suppose that is not going to be easy

Go and see Mike and Paul at PRS.
They are about as expert as it is possible to be and they know the cars inside out and will give you good advice and they are nice people too.
There are many pitfalls in buying a 356 and if I was buying one I would start with them.

Sounds like great advice, thank you.
