Where shall we start... Typically bad US repairs to floorpan, underseal chipped to reveal original red paint on body, cheap Chinese carburettors and filters, cheap sump extension etc, spaghetti wiring, junkyard seats, cheap Chinese coil-over rear shocks, everything under the car is just a parts catalogue bolt-on. New paint and flash wheels to distract attention from the above... I know Randy who's listing the car and I can tell from his way of writing that he doesn't hold this car in high esteem.

The price is reasonable in today's over inflated market but I can guarantee when you get the car home, the lid will be lifted off a large can of worms.

But that's just my take on it.

Maybe not then!

I always thought oldbug only sold decent cars

Never like the early bumper / late lights look on a Ghia

I fear I’m going to expose my lack of Ghia knowledge (they were always too glamorous for me):

Was there a factory crossover big rear lights / bullet fronts, a bit like the 71/2 busses, or has that one been changed?

I think there's some different stuff going on with US spec ones.

KS can confirm

I just prefer small bullets and rear lights with blade bumpers and the chunky Europa type bumpers with the big lights

This talks you through - not sure how accurate it is

The car is registered in New York, Randy is in California - he is happy to sell cars from across the country if people send him photos and a description. I presume there's small print in the bill of sale that exonerates Oldbug from any misrepresentation...

BTW - it's been 'backdated' with the addition of early turn signals and bumpers. 1972 US models should be big bumpers, big lights and big turn signals...

Silly to go so far and not fit small rear lights.

Bit of a job though - ever tried fitting new wings on a Ghia

They must just do a little panel you can weld on don’t they? I remember welding in a small panel on the bottom of the rear wings to one BITD.

Maybe they do but not sure

I remember having to have a new front wing on my Ghia - not an easy job at all

Either way I’ll not be buying this car. Thank you.
