DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

I’m thinking that I ought to refurb my v soggy seats (car obviously). Is one of the commercially available kits the way to go? I’m presuming so. Anyone with any views on who does the best seat refurb kit (Rose, Lakewell, Design 911, others?)? How easy are these to fit?

I faced a similar dilemma myself. Had very soggy seats with the added 'charm' of heavily worn centre panels (comfort seats with cord centre panels). In the words of Chris at GCR Central in Leicester, 'that's not patina Neil, that's knackered'.

What I found was that the cost of the kits was quite high - I looked at new and used covers. I'd recommend a chat with Garry Hall at Classic FX. He did a fab job on my seats for less than the price of one of the re-cover kits. The thing I really liked was he conserved my seats, keeping the bits that were in good condition, only replacing the bits that needed it.

If you need new foams, be careful what you go for. I had mine done Southbound who had to replace all the foams since they were crumbling. The seats looks great but I think they are a bit too firm and the steering wheel is too close to my thighs. Hopefully they will settle down with use.
