The glass mirror part of my wing mirror got smashed during a drive recently. Fortunately the body is unmarked, but something hit it with enough force to break the glass.

It looks like this one:

I don't need a whole new mirror, just the glass.

Can anyone recommend a source in the UK?

Also, any advice on how's best to remove and refit the glass?

Many thanks!

Not sure whether they are similar to the flag mirrors, but I posted some info on my restoblog here https://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewt ... &start=375

Thanks Peter, the older one on mine is a bit different though- not electrically adjustable either.

OK - my passenger mirror is manual, although the glass comes off/ out the same as the electric one

The mirror Karmann have on offer is not the LHD 1972/73 smaller version but for 74-76 cars. It will fit of course on a 72, same foot, same part number. Glass is imbedded in a plastic seal. If you still have the plastic seal then you can try a glass shop to cut a mirror to the inner size of the plastic seal and push back in the housing.
