SWB mirror to Longhood?

Post by Chris_ABZ »

Does anyone now if a SWB mirror will fit a Longhood? Really will it sit at the correct location once screwed into the overhead to be usable?

The recess with screw holes is not on a LWB shell.
You will also find that your LWB visors will be in the way.

I have a swb mirror in my 1970 car - don't think the visors clash and I thought the fixing point was there?

I wanted a 68 breakaway mirror in my 70 but the mounting on the top wasn't there. 68 mirror stem is much shorter and my 70 visors would have clashed. Obviously everything can be made to work. Longer stem 65-67 mirror and swap out the visors if you can find a nice set.

aah - so I must have a 65 - 67 mirror. I bought it so long ago I can't remember what it was.

Don't Singer use SWB rear view mirrors on their (964 based) cars?

They are placed on the windshield on the pics I have looked at. Never seen one in the flesh.
