Battery Help

Hi all. Hope people are keeping well.

I did have a quick search and appreciate this might be covered but couldn't find it.

A mate has a 944 which is stored away from home. He doesn't have power source in the lock-up (so can't have a conditioner), can't get down to the car that regularly and is finding his battery is always flat. Solution might be a portable power pack.

But, anyone got any recommendations for batteries that are known to hold power when not in use for a while. I've had good experience with the Optima Red Top for my 356 (particularly as I have to crank it for ages to get the fuel through). Understand this battery doesn't quite fit in the 944. People in US seem to like Interstate.

In my limited experience, the younger the car, the more power is drained by systems on the car, ie alarms etc.

My 73T 911 will sit for months and will start perfectly, by Boxster struggles after 2 weeks or less.

Halfords Bosch silver batteries have been great on my 911 and I know others have had the same experience.

To my knowledge Bosch are now named Yussa, a deal between the two companies but the battery remains as before. I’ve had good results with the Bosch/Yussa Silver from Halfords and they will replace them up to five years.

Take his present battery home with him to maintain there.

Take it back to the car when he visits to drive?
