although lets also remember .. back in 2003 when ddk started , everyone on here had cars because they loved them ... prices were around 12k for a decent early 911 with maybe a £6k spread between a T and an S . Everyone had these cars to drive and enjoy & their values were never discussed . Resto costs / engine rebuilds still happened ... people would take a £10K car , spend £25k on it & the car would then be worth maybe £18k Our small world of classic Porsches or VW's etc was possibly more fun when people did things because they wanted to .. not because it made financial sense

So whatever happens ... those who love old cars will still be here doing the same old stuff they used to

Can I suggest that if you really really feel like that then you should go into the garage, smell the oil and do some work on your car.

Undoubtedly there will be losers from the current situation but there will also be winners. No-one actually knows because we haven't been in such a situation before and hopefully the steps being taken now will help speed up the recovery. However, such unhelpful speculation serves no purpose other than to make everyone's lives a little bit more miserable. Which is really nothing to be proud of.

I’d be delighted if my car dropped to £10k again. I could get another one or two.

I don’t think it’ll happen though.

We’ve never seen such a sudden shut down as this, but not have we seen such wide-ranging state intervention or such an obvious, tangible end in sight.

I reckon we’ll see 30% off prices. A decent S back to £70k and a 912 for £30k would feel about right to me.

Impact Bumpers had a doom and gloom thread. It got locked by the boss on the basis of it’s on the news, let’s keep off here.

I'm hoping for a massive crash. My little collection will be worthless, but think of the cars that might come within reach... I'm thinking of a lime green Miura right now.

If the market crashes that badly, then by my reconing someone will pay me to take their 'scruffy but much loved' TVR Grantura off their hands!

Values? Ah who cares, as others have said the cars are supposed to be enjoyed not locked away to accrue value!

I agree with others comments, things were a lot more fun when values were lower and people were using their cars more.

If people are getting upset about it they’re obviously missing the point!

Presumably everything is worth zero at the moment. Dealers aren’t allowed to be open and private folk aren’t allowed to leave the house.

The only way from here is upwards.

Bit sad I won't get to have one unless the 911, the Bo"&@er or the Lola go...

I miss the oily hands, the push in the garage to do the best job you can, keeping the wife happy at the same time, yearning for a car resto again.

Our lot is a hobby, when social distancing gets relaxed, our side will blast back into play, shows, Welsh runs guided by Gary's maps and a road trip abroad in the white car.
So much to look forward to, it will be worth this little wait.

I washed my 911 yesterday and warmed the engine with open exhaust, bejesus, what a car!
If only Mrs Hillclimber would trust the 911 more a Euro trip in it would be a dream.
