James
For the MFI pump only, Mike Burgess is your man. Did mine for me.
Setup on the car, dunno. Going to have to go through this myself later when i get the engine back from MB. Yes there is light

This is what Mike said
If the MFI pump and throttles are basically sound, I can normally sort throttle calibration, syncronisation, fuelling, cold-start and overrun shut-off issues.
Often though, the MFI pump and/or throttles are quite worn, and ability to set-up effectively is compromised by this. In these situations I recommend sending pump away for re-cal or rebuild and a rebuild of butterflies beforehand, which i don't do in house.

James,
I've been struggling for years after Bob passed away. Nick Fulljames did a great job after my rebuild but due to a problem the engine was stripped again and then he closed down. I ran it a little lumpy for a while and took it to a place in Andover (cant remember the name). £500 lighter, I started to drive it home and it was far too lean so had to trailer it back, worked out it was simple fixes which i would have thought could have been picked up during the rolling road.
Got it running and then had another problem with the engine so I will also be currently looking for a place. Please post up if you have any success.

There are two people I know of with the proper Bosch made machines for set up and calibrating an MFI pump. These are Fred Pentecost and Neil Bainbridge. Both will also fully restore the pumps. It is essential that the injectors are also checked for spray pattern and fuel delivery. Even new injectors need checking. I have used both Fred and Neil. Michael Burgess also restores pumps and I have used him too.

It is my understanding that to get this spot on 'near as damn it. You need the pump rebuilt / set up correctly. A good friend of mine had his pump rebuilt by a mentioned "specialist" in this thread. It then needed a further seeing to as most settings were all over the place. Another £500 quid lighter was the result.
Mike Bainbridge is the man with the correct kit. Starting saving up though...

I think you might both mean Neil Bainbridge not Mike? Neil certainly has the Bosch machine...
Also it's my experience that the throttle bodies (certainly the Mag variants) are a weaker link than the pump. So agree with Mike MCE when he says these often need rebuild. If the spindles are slopping around in an oval hole they have worn, the fuelling is not going to be great...

Correction yes Neil. Yep, waste of money if your throttle bodies are worn.
