Distributor refurbishment

First post from a lurker - please be gentle. I am planning to get the distributor on my 993 refurbished this winter. I know of a couple of places in Germany that do this but with the current ongoing shenanigans I was looking for an option closer to home. I have just found H&H Ignition Solutions in Dudley, it looks like they have done some older Bosch distributors. Has anyone used them or have any experience of them?
Thanks,
Chris

Welcome. Does your username indicate an interest in 16th-century Danish aristocrats / astronomers / duellists? Colourful character, the Tycho I'm thinking of...
I use Precision in Uckfield for 993 stuff. I doubt they'd do the refurb in house, but they are likely to know and manage a decent subcontractor - stuff they've done for me, over many years, has usually worked perfectly. Not cheap, but prompt and reliable.
BTW doesn't a 993 have two dizzys?
BTW I'm told that the (belt driven) dizzy drive has also become a weak point on 993s, so might be worth replacing the belt "while you are in there"?
Cheers, Richard.

That’s the chap – not the American musician. Colourful is an understatement – having a brass false nose due to a duelling injury. His life makes Game of Thrones look dull.
I have read that the belts driving the 2nd dizzy are now prone to fail due to aging, so I was looking at getting that and the bearings changed.
Thanks for the info, looks like the European option may be the best.

My daughter was in an opera loosely based on the life of Tycho Brahe. You don't get that kind of banter on Pistonheads
Good luck with the dizzys and their belts. And post some 993 pics if you get a chance.

Just spoken to my local OPC on the recommendation of a PCGB member. He had his distributor done and was keen to get an OPC invoice as protection (and for the history file - his 964 had a full OPC service record) even though the work is outsourced. The figure quoted for the full refurb, bearings & belt etc, is attractive & I won’t have the issue of shipping.
