I've just bought a Mercedes Pagoda 250 SL from this company - Lux classics - and I'm very impressed with the service I've received, when I collect it next week I've arranged to have a test drive in this 911 T they have for sale............

https://www.luxclassics.com/vehicle-det ... -Sale-U57/

I'd welcome any opinions please - the T's I've had in the past have been 2.2's or 2.4's - never driven a 2.0, I assume they are probably quite high reving ? - the car looked to be in immaculate condition when I visited to try the Pagoda a few weeks ago......... interested to hear any thoughts please,

Thanks very much

Steve

Certainly looks well. Someone must have spent plenty restoring it.
I've only driven a 2.0l and owned a 2.2T and 2.2S ( which I didn't really like ).
They all looked , sounded and handled very similar to me, so condition
overrides performance figures, unless it's for track days or racing.
Only one way to judge really, so insist on a spirited test drive on a good road.

A T is decidedly (and deliberately) unrevvy compared to an E or S.

Drive before you buy.

Hi Steve
As sam says 'Drive before you buy'.
However given the details of the car are a little lacking re. the 'full engine rebuild', I'd want to know a lot more, a few simple mods and E or S parts could change the whole nature of the engine and If I was forking out for a full rebuild I'd be very tempted!

All the best
Ian F.

I had a 1967 2.0 .. which is proababally comparable to a 69 T 2.0 ?? .. it sounded nice , but was definatly not what you would call revvy. To be honest I found it boring , but then I only really like 911 motors that come 'on cam' with top end pull

A 69 T makes max power at 300rpm less than a 67 911 so it feels even less perky than that car. On paper not by much but on the road you really feel it.

A 69T has the lightest shell of any lwb 911 if I remember correctly. In Brendan’s case very light !
