Hi all!
This is actually my second introduction, but the first one was few years back so let’s call this as a new start with my new car... 911E -73 race car.
I recently bought it from Ireland where it raced for several years.
I’m still in progress of finding out about the history so feel free to send me pm if you know anything about it. UK reg is MML 134L
How did I end up here? Well... I bought my first 911 about 5 years ago and it was 997 2s and it got modified then and had some fun on the UK tracks. Good times!
At the time I thought air cooled would be too much to handle for me lol
Now I think the time is right and fell in love with this car soon as I saw it.
I might start a separate build thread later.
Looking forward to get to know people from the forum and attend meets and events.

Well, that looks very nice. Enjoy your summer driving.
Why restore? If it drives well you could miss a lot of pleasure taking it off the road for months (years?).
You know how restorations never go to plan.
Good luck. Keep us posted.
Regards
Mike

I raced against that car many many times, it was owned and raced by Tom Hallissey, in the Porsche Open Race Series Ireland around 10 years ago. Last time I saw the car it was with ASK racing (Dublin area) run by Alan Kessie. From memory it was a sunroof car with delete panel. A google of Toms name and Porsche 911 should find you plenty of photos.

Hi Marika
So here you are at last!
Dave [majordad here] is on his way back from Nurburgring - and will have much more info on the car when he returns.
Is the engine in or not - I forget!
Any news on your glass and second set of wheels from Alan Kessie?
Clive

Thank you

Engine and gearbox is out and it has been standing for few years now.
I’m still trying to make a plan where to start lol
Not looking forward to spend all time time looking at it all stripped, but I think it is unavoidable thing with these old cars, sooner or later.

That is very cool! Would you happen to have any results stored from those days?
It had a sunroof and it is making a bit of reappearance lol. Good excuse to go for fiber roof possibly? Not sure if a good idea, have to talk to someone smarter about it. I have found very few pictures of it and would love to find more pictures and details from those days with Tom. I’ve been told it used to race also in UK and I’m actually going tomorrow with 911MRP to have a look at library at the RAC in London if we could find some records. Would be helpful to know when it left UK.

Hi Clive,
Glad you made it safely back without aircon lol
At least you can open your windows unlike me with my car if I want to keep the slide slots for my future racing events :D I’ll let majordad recover from your trip. I also want to visit in Ireland soon! Have to plan something maybe around some car event and/or racing.
Engine is out, but it is rolling. Unfortunately no reply from Alan. I really would like to get rest of my parts

Indeed!
I had a look at your cars. Amazing details!! Definitely sets up standards high for others! :D
I’m going to build mine to have fun on track and possibly race, but would like to achieve that tidy attention to detail look too!
