Any recommendations?
Think my (ancient) one is on its last legs.
Thanks

I went traditional and chose a hard rubber battery. It's the correct size so it fits nicely and it has a good amp hour and cold crank rating.

I can fully recommend the Optima Red Top. I do appreciate the look doesn't suit everyone. Works for me as my car is stored away from my home and it's not on a trickle charger and not used as often as it should be so I appreciate the holding of charge / extra churning without flattening.
That said the one linked above looks decent. I would probably go for that if my car was close by and I used it a bit more.

Yes agree looks okay. I bought mine around 5 years ago from Milestones it was around £120- back then and has lasted well well so far. I do use the 'Accumate' battery conditioner on it though all the time. That item was a great investment.

That looks good, I use a similar battery from Lincon Batteries in Leigh on Sea in our Austin 7, but there is one important factor:
The open bars on the top are a significant danger. The battery MUST be secured and covered with a lid of some sort, i suggest plywood with vent holes. If a spanner (for instance) slithers out for your toolkit, or just gets dropped down the back of the spare wheel and lands across those bars you have a very serious situation on your hands......it will reach red hot in a couple of seconds......start melting the lead bars, and can cause all sorts of unstoppable havoc, acid spill, explosion, or fire or all of these. Accumate trickle chargers are good for battery life, though check acid levels from time to time. Ctek also do an excellent 6v conditioner. W
