Recaro Sports Seat help

Hello,
I had a pair of Recaro Sports restored by Southbound but haven't been happy with them. I was sitting too high so took them back to be adjusted in the seat area, which I understand is a common issue. Now that they have been installed, I feel that my legs are too close to the steering wheel. Can any of you with original Recaro sports seats (preferably unrestored) and factory 380mm or 400mm steering wheels please provide me with some reference dimensions as follows: please push back the seat until the front of the seat is plumb in line with the bottom of the steering wheel
Please let me know this dimension, which size steering wheel you have and which of the seat height adjustment holes you are using to fix the seat to the base.
Thank you,
Gitesh

Mine is 120mm which is interesting as I have exactly the same setup as James.

If you're a bit tall and worried the headlining will rub you a bald pate, the seats can be dropped below the seat rails with some clever bracketry.

Mike - thank you. The different heights are interesting as you point out. I've been told mine is 160mm. Maybe I should just live with them for a while and see how I get on.
Thank you all for your help.
Kind regards
Gitesh

Gitesh,
I´m also pretty tall. My solution was a Recaro Aftermarket Idealsitz with RS Lightweight-inspired Seat Mounts (with a 30mm drop!) and a 806.10 380mm Steering wheel.
The mentioned distance is 20-21cm im my case.
How to post pictures in better resolution here?
BR
Dirk

The seats will begin to sag a bit with use. We met at Brands when you came to see my CSCC race, I reckon you are heavy enough like me to sag them. Worked well on my 72s after Ninemeister refurbished them.

Hello Dirk - good to hear from you. Yes, I reckon a 380mm wheel would help. However, I need to put some more miles on my car. So far it is ok, but I find that my thighs are a little close to the wheel and getting in and out is a little awkward.
Hi Majordad - that is good to hear, thank you. I don't think you mean me though. I haven't been to Brands Hatch and am pretty slim and not very heavy
Kind regards to you both,
Gitesh

Hi, I am new to the forum and am hopefully about to acquire a car in the next few days. Quite excited as this is the culmination of a dream! This thread is interesting to me as I am quite tall and the space between steering wheel and seats as described here is 140mm and is tight for me. My legs are more suited to the rugby pitch than running a marathon... The car has double locker Reacaro’s and a 380mm RS wheel.
One potential solution is a steering wheel spacer as I will need the seat right back anyway. Can anyone recommend a spacer ? Period part would be fantastic as the previous owner has been fastidious in the extreme and would love to stick to that theme but nothing is more important than a good driving position. I’d also be interested if the brackets talked about above a realistic solution with the set up I have? Seats are original and refurbished to a high standard a couple of years ago but feels me like they need to settle a bit.
Thanks !

Have you checked the seats are mounted on their lowest setting ? ( recaros mounting point can be set at 3 different heights )
