Air duct behind fan-housing

Good afternoon Gentlemen
I found that on my car is missing the air duct that stays behing fan-housing under engine cover.
Part number 911.106.033.00, not provided new by no parts specialist (picture follows...)
From some point neither Porsche Catalogue report it ....
Is it fundamental?
I found some only used on ebay from usa... But due to taxes it become very expensive...
If anyone of you (not USA based) has one to sell me please pm me.
Thanks
Max

Yes they are important (Porsche rarely include parts which aren't essential).
The air duct helps to draw cooling air through the alternator but also deflects air flow to cylinders 1 & 2 by means of the metal 'wings'.
If you end up buying a used air duct be careful since they have often been damaged ...

There are also different types dependant on whether your alternator has a built in regulator or not.

The later cars used an alternator with a built-in voltage regulator.
The air duct for these models is: 911.106.055.01
- available new from several sources including Rose Passion in France (& probably direct from Porsche) ...

Thank you Lightweight
My car is a 911 2,2 T my 1970... Would the part number you indicate fit to my car?...
Rosepassion proposed me a part at a price of 375€... Out of any sense... Without picture and correspondent porsche part number
But in their catalogue I found also the following at 129€...
Thanks for any suggestion

Yes - that's the later part for an alternator with built-in voltage regulator.
Your car would originally have had a separate voltage regulator & used the earlier air duct.
I can't remember how different the 2 air ducts are - I seem to remember that the later version has a cut-out to clear the voltage regulator but don't know if you could just blank off that cut-out (grp).
Maybe someone who is familiar with both early & later 911's (Jon - 'DustyM' ?) can offer more advice ?

Dear All
I finally found a used air duct to replace my missing unit...
Just a doubt about correct position (it could be fixed rotating it by 60 degrees up to 360 degrees wrong...)
If I refer to Porsche Spare parts catalogue (number 13)
I'm going to install it this way
If anybody of you is able to confirm me I'd be grateful.
My car hasn't it so I never saw it installed properly.
Incredible that on Porsche Workshop manual nor Haynes there's no mention at all of it.
Thank you very much
Max

The nose part where the wires go through is at the bottom.
There’s a pic on page 8 of our alternator manual here:

@Jonny Hart thank you so much for you super-useful link!!
I need longer bolt to screw the hub extension...
I found these with less thread
Compared to the actual installed
This for sure was the reason the former owner of the car didn't re-install air duct after changing alternator...
Am I forced to get a longer threaded part or the bottom nuts are enough to keep alternator and air duct all together on housing fun?
Thanks again!

Dear Gentlemen
Finally air duct fitted, very tight and uncomfortable to fit it properly workng between engine cover and housing fun...
...and I understood why people don't refit it...
Many trouble to fit it...
And moreover standard screw of alternator that is not the first equipment bosch are not long enough... That was the case of my valeo alternator...
Following pictures in order to help anybody in the same trouble:
The spare part comes from my brother 3.0 sc: he changed alternator and it came provided with upgraded air duct so he gave his old one to me: fortunately perfect for my valeo alternator with big voltage regulator

To get space for screwing I needed to remove right air deflector

Finally all refitted
