time has come to paint my T5 shell after a 3 year restoration, it is an "outlaw" anyway, and it will not be its original colour (Ivory)...too much like a wedding car...so, it will be solid aquamarine 5707.....does anyone have a swatch of what they believe to be the correct colour, and , perhaps, recommendations for high quality/close match systems & paint suppliers (i'll be applying it myself in 2 pack)...thanks

I'm about to have my car painted in solid acquamarine too. I'll let you know what my painter (Andy at Spike's @andythepaint on instagram) ends up using. I've seen so many cars that I think are acquamarine blue and it's hard to tell whether they're the same or not; the minute the light changes or a cloud passes over, it looks a different colour ...which is quite nice really.

just to come back on this, i got Aquamarine 5707 mixed in 2K Mobihel and it turned out much greyer and muddier and lacking in blue than the Wilholt match card someone lent me....i added some VW Monaco blue to get it as i wanted

Adrian , Aquamarine 5707 is a great colour so I hope it turns out OK for you.

Re the Wilhoit match cards , I bought one for a '55 colour - Speedster Blue - and it looked nothing like the existing colour on my car !
In fact the card was actually Sky Blue which is a subtly different and later colour ( about 9 years later )

Re UK paint specialists for early 356s , I would trust Roger Bray and Bruce Cooper to get it right , I ended up with Bruce mixing up some Glasurit 22 line for touch up of Speedster Blue

If you need one after the paint's on and you've cut it back, I have a big polisher with the sponge mops for the final polish if you want to borrow it. I'm in Broadbridge Heath so just down the road from you.

i must tell you about a British product....if you spray 2K at home as i did, there are various reports that you'll be dead the next morning etc....i bought a Scott full-face respirator with the correct and very bulky combination filter and, together with a clean shave and an extractor, smelt not the merest hint of odour during the whole process....they are expensive (£160) but worth every penny (i have no connection with the company).....oh, and make sure the neighbours are out

it also helps that i use a 4 stage turbine sprayer (Fuji, also a great bit of kit, but Canadian) which reduces paint fog
