Every MOT back to 1981 :)

Tom, always good to have all the paperwork ( I also have MOTs back to 1980 for mine)

Looking at the photo of the underneath looks like it is in fantastic condition.

Glad the car sold to you Tom, as I know you will treat her well... :)

Enjoyed my drive up to the swap meet today...nothing like an MFI to grab every opertunity for rapid acceleration.....and that noise..... :bounce:

Great looking car Tom 8)

Short travel throttle doesn’t sound stock... all mfi cars I have driven have a similar pedal travel to later cars .... there are a lot of adjustable rods though between your foot and the throttle bodies

I'm with James on the throttle pedal travel. Doesn't sound quite right. FWIW my (RHD) '69 MFI car has quite a long travel throttle, and the pedal positions / travels / weights are pretty similar to my (RHD) 993.

Great looking car Tom.

I have always used Framptons for my number plates.

Apologies, John reminds me - another option for plates (which I have used a couple of times with good results):

James, thanks. I will have them investigate further and check the mechanism. Perhaps just me but will make a point of making sure this is correct.

Appreciate the advice on the plates.

One more question, the car sits on Cinturato CN tyres. Correct for the period and car. Are these a good tyre? I realise they are period correct but any car I have owned tyres are usually the first thing I change and refresh. The tyres are dated 2017 and have virtually no miles on them. I will run them but just curious of what others are running?

Hi Tom

The CN 36 are supposed to be a very good tyre, plenty of reviews on DDK for these. Ive never had a set although I have ordered some this weekend.

Kind Regards

Congratulations on the Carrera Tom - looks to be a great example.

Regarding the Pirelli tyres - no Porsche experience but I have them on my '69 Alfa Spider & think they're excellent.

Darren fitted a set to his 911E a few months ago & I think he's been impressed by them.

This is (obviously) a serious and significant 911, and I look forward to your meticulous investigation and improvement of all its nooks and crannies. John.

It would appear that the leak is more than just the crankshaft seal. The brown resin in the picture below is where someone has tried to seal the leak in the past, George is going to clean this off and apply a sealant to see if this helps. Can only imagine this will be a short term fix and the engine case might need split. If so then this can be organised at a later date, keen to get the car home and work away at the deep clean.

Image

I have started a list, not extensive but all that will be put right

Fuel gauge slow to register - only registered half way immediately after filling. Full the next morning. I have been told it might free itself up once it has been filled several times. Not sure how long it has been sitting.
Ducktail to be fitted
Oil leak - crankshaft
Interior lights staying on when in the auto position
Wax oil on the underside of the inner wings to be renewed
Dash bulbs and heater light very low - replace with warm white LED
Intermittent noise from the heater fan
Headlight bulbs to be replaced
Internals of the headlight to be cleaned
Brake travel to be looked at
Accelerator travel
Change brake fluid
Isolator switch to be fitted
Tracker fitted
Washer jets to be checked and gauze to be cleaned out
CTek comfort connect cable onto battery
Number plate lights
New number plates
Earth strap washer
Front hubs to be adjusted
Sweat from oil tank sender
Oil filter to be changed to red Porsche filter
Fan belt to be replaced to Porsche original

....and still my wife complains when I leave an empty cup out, says I walk past it and never notice. Note to self to be more observant.
