DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

I’m currently replacing my master cylinder on the 912 and need to also change the flexi brake hoses that go from the reservoir to the pre formed semi rigid plastic pipes (that go down to the master cylinder)

Question is what spec are these hoses, are they the same as fuel line (they certainly look similar) or are they specific for use with brake fluid?

Pic shows the hose I removed.

Use proper brake fluid approved hose ( vw blue for example) ... otherwise the brake fluid soon destroys fuel line stuff ( found out from experience on this )

I’ll seek some of that out then, the stuff that came off just looks like old fuel line and has been on there for years, but must be the right spec hose as never had any issues.

Are the little rubber tubes in the master cylinder ok? When taking my car apart I noticed where the rigid pipes go into the master cylinder there are rubber tubes and all were cracked and falling apart.

Just thinking whilst it’s in bits...

I’ve replaced the complete master cylinder Gary so comes with new rubbers in situ, although they don’t seem quite as tight a fit as the ones on the old master cylinder.

You need an EPDM hose as an NBR Fuel Hose will be badly affected by the glycol based brake fluid.

The original hose supplied by Porsche was Blue and is still availablel.

I have spare a 250mm length of the right hose, bought back in 1992 when I changed my car to RHD.
It is the right material and came from Porsche. My hoses today have lasted 27 years so far.
