So a bucket list car of mine has come up, and with deep regret have to sell my gorgeous 912 that I have spent a few years and a ton of money restoring. I am planning to sell it via Max at Revival, but if anyone has any better advice, words of wisdom or know of anyone who is looking for one at the top end of the scale please do let me know. Its been a great journey, was always a must have car for me so at least I can say I have been there

I will place it on the for sale section for a week, but suspect advertising a car to forum members who already have their Porsches may not work.

I've never sold a car so can't help much but that has never stopped me offering advice before. Have you considered going on ebay, classic driver, piston head etc for a top end price for a bit before turning it over to Max? I am not a expert but I suspect you haven't picked the best time of the year. Any chance you can hold out until spring?

I am split 2 ways- Max should have a great audience and instils confidence in a buyer, but the trade off is he needs to charge for his services. I hope the potential is that Max can attract a higher price based on the above and possibly a quicker sale. I guess the base line is I know how much I need to see in my pocket after the sale and fees. If this can be achieved then great, failing that I will go it alone for a bit and take it from there.

Like alot of things in life, it’s down to the price, probably the highest will be achieved selling through a dealer. Unless a buyer as some experience then buying an high value item people tend to feel more comfortable buying off a trader. Warranty, finance and confidence. This is probably not the best time of time of year and with the press being doom and gloom, high ticket items have seemed to have slowed down with respect to sales. IMO to achieve the highest price the car needs matching numbers, original speck, history and RHD. Anything less will be reflected in the price.

You’ve got nothing to loose by putting it on this forum, there are always people prepared to buy another car, or those that are looking out for one, for a friend or family member.

I got sooo busy that I ran out of time to do much. The car is with Max at Revival, I trust he will do a great job in selling it, plus supporting it there after.
