I spent a lot of time working on the interior with Martin at Classic Roadsters and i think Giles has taken up the same interior and deal I really think with Martin involved its going to be one hell of a car when finished..I m going to be jealous but cant wait to see it.
As for the Wheels mate - our bus has polished which look cool but for me i prefer the Classic VW ones - bugger names escaping me - normally detailed black and against alloy, you were actually selling a set not so long ago.... in the 5 stud pattern amazing one of the guys on the DDK has a real Speedster with them..ANYWAY get those, but have them machined to 7 1/2" maybe 8 look great in the bus arches, just need to lower it a spline of two all around..

Mate! That last pic must've broke your heart!
Needless to say I will not celebrate publicly until your new motor arrives (good luck with that by the way and if it's any consolation, I am incredibly jealous - an RS Rep. would be my top choice for a 911 - seems we are both men of impeccable taste! )

During my brief ownership/salvage/embarassment i chased up some interesting history on the wreck: film prop car at Pinewood, appeared in The Saint and minor films as a bonfire on a couple of occasions i was told! The bloke that got in touch with me said it was bought new by a celeb that couldn't drive then lost it in a bet! (More on this when i get some sort of proof...) Got hit by a few chase cars hence being repaired with ex-print plates and Polyfila by props boys then parked up and forgotten until a doctor without tools of any form took pity on it... glorious life for the poor thing.
Does this match anything you knew about it?
I took the box out and found it was perfectly usable straight from the car and only needed a very light resto/check over. Doesn't appear to have done many miles under it's own power... the only good thing left i thought but the remains are being rebuilt using T1 mechanicals and acres of fresh sheet steel. Really must like a challenge...

WOW nice history! I was aware of the doctor, even chatted to him about the car, he wanted to buy it back, but little prior to that..where is it now?
I think the DDK should get a cash pool between us all and buy it as the DDK official mascot as most of us have owned it at some time!!
