Now that i am coming to the end of a resto i am looking for tyres. Current tyres are only half worn with unused spare but 20 years old so time for a change.
Looking for 165 HR X 15 or 185/70 HR x 15 but a bit surprised they are more expensive than the N rated tyres i just fitted to my 928GTS. I know these sizes are not in demand but best price i have seen so far is about £150.00 each or more.
Anyone got a good supplier who can beat these prices?

Camskill have a choice from about £35 up. I use Vredestein, have for forty years on oldies, they’re £39 for 165 x 15 T Trac.

I opted for Mitchelin XZX on my 356c, I got them from Longstone tyres down portsmouth way. They will deliver them to anywhere in the country, they do the XZX 165SR15 for £115 each

You could also look at Brockley tyres, they specialise in 356's and put the boots on the Porsche Club GB's 356B

Xzx - great - last ages too

I just got lucky. Managed to pick up a set of 5 Michelin XAS tyres just a year old for very little money. Have to get tubes but i like the idea of having a good make period tyre fitted.

Oo, this isn't going to be popular, but could i suggest that price is not the determining factor you should use when buying tyres.

If i'm brutally honest we ignore cost completely when making our recommendation. we go purely based on what is best for your car, which isn't always the most expensive. (however in the case of a 356 it is because you want a sports car tyre with a carcass that is designed to compliment your chassis)
