DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

Recently I was fortunate to acquire a couple of sets of very straight genuine 7R's which I've matched with Deep 6's and took these to Biagio Chrzanowski who magically transformed them from this......



....to this .....



.....I decided to go with a regular finish on this set with Biagio now refurbing the second set in a racing (RSR) finish as per my originals......and not only the finish that's new as I decided to give these a try ....



....although looking a little like truck tyres compared to the Avons I was a tad concerned if they'd fit....



....interesting to compare the worn Avons with new CN36 and CR6ZZ.....



....car now looking fab again .....



Not had a real chance to try the Pirelli's yet although looking forward to comparing them against the Avons which I love.

Have to say a huge thanks to Biagio who's work is absolutely sublime and very authentic

If anyone is looking for some top end Fuchs now's the time to catch him as he currently has finished sets of every size available from......and if you need a set refurbished I couldn't recommend Biagio highly enough, top end work at a fair price......oh, and he's also about two years quicker than other people I could mention!

very nice, what size tyres have you put on the 7Rs? are you using spacers?

i also have 7Rs for the back and am thinking avon 215 60's.....185 60 on the deep 6 at the front

What sort of cost per wheel are we looking at darren

....215/60 rears with 185/70 fronts......from memory I think I have 14mm spacers on the rear, arches are rolled.

Mark, cost was £325 per wheel.

Looking good.
Tubeless? Did you do the machining to make the valve easier to seat, or have you found a source of suitable stubby valves?

No modification and tubeless Richard.

I had purchased a batch of valves although these proved to be a fraction loose, fortunately the tyre fitters had a few old valves kicking around in a drawer that did the trick. Be warned, not all stubby TR415 valves are the same!

I bought some Italian ‘TR415’ valves which proved to be too thin too. Fortunately have some fat ones to do one more set. Thanks for the heads up on Biagio’s workload.

I think it varies Clive and can sometimes be many months however Biagio mentioned that he'd been working flat out in recent months to clear a backlog and is now well on top of things......he promised he'd have the wheels I dropped of last week ready for my first rally in September

He did these for me too. About 8 years ago.

(His work looks lovely on a blood orange car, doesn't it Darren... )

Biagio did these as well,widened and anodised,with no signs of welds showing through anodising.
