I am thinking of buying a friend’s 1969 911E, 60k miles, mint and original coupe car. Has the engine and MFI rebuilt 4 years ago by specialist. Located in Canada. Fair price in today’s market?

Sounds very cheap compared to U.K. prices. Might be more sensible for Canadian prices.

Prices are lower in North America but descriptions of condition aren’t necessarily reliable.

I know the owner personally. It’s a great car. I must just buy it and send to the UK.

I’ll formally inspect the car on Wednesday evening - and make up my mind.

If you know the owner “personally” and in your opinion it’s a “great car”, and you’ll see it and personally “make up my mind”, anyone else’s opinion on its value would appear to be superfluous - so why not be done with the pretence and just tout for the intended flip. I’m pretty sure this community would respect you more for that.

Bit harsh Jeremy to be honest. I may end up buying the car to bring back. Then offer it on DDK.

But I’m really unsure of values right now. Hence the ask for views. Market is generally downwards in direction. 69 Es are pretty uncommon, so couldn’t really get any good comparators. Hence the request. It was not intended as some sort of advert or ruse. I’m just not wired that way.

Honestly, I’m undecided. By the time I’ve shipped the car, paid duty, prep’d for sale, serviced the car etc, then I’m in for probably £100k. To make it worthwhile, then it would need to sell for around £110k. I’m not sure if £110k is a realistic number. By the sound of some feedback perhaps it is. The car is owned by a friend. I’ve seen the car but not inspected it. I need to decide one way or other this week. Any thoughts, good bad or indifferent welcome

I’d welcome any other views. Then I can decide to buy or not.

He also has a 73E RHD too.

I’ve found four for sale this morning ranging from a colour change burgundy car at a very reasonable price/condition and a belter 85k miles from new one owner car in polo red at a highest price but it has all service records from new.

Maybe we should go into this car selling thing Eddie? We seem to have a handle on the market.

G ... If you're doing it as a business , then do so, .. research on your own and take the info you learn and use it. You will then hopefully make a bit of money and supply a few nice cars into the UK. Everyone happy

BUT , don't expect to come along with very little knowledge, ask your fellow enthusiasts for their knowledge and experience , then use it to profit from the very same community. That's what gets peoples backs up.

I'm waiting for 911 virgin, PS etc to pop along and ask us how much they should sell their cars for next as they're unsure of the market

I've found a yellow 1973 2.4 911S belonging to a farming type up north. What do you think I should offer him? He never uses it from what I understand.
