Porsche 356 (T5) Help?????

Hi

I'm in negotiation with a guy in Florida about buying his 356. He owns several Porsche's and, as a project, has restored this 356 to, what looks like, new. It has been restored to the factory build and has matching numbers engine & transmission. The engine & transmission have been professionally rebuilt & everything else on the car, that hasn't been renewed, has been rebuilt.

The bodywork was taken back to bare metal & resprayed. The car really does look in mint condition. Don't know if it's possible to include pictures or I would have.

There are however a few things that haven't been done, for reasons I won't bore you with, so I'll have to get them done when the car lands on UK soil.

Does anyone know of a Porsche specialist in or around the Sheffield area where I can get these things done?

To be honest ... a ‘few things’ need doing could be anything. Is it just basic stuff like fit up the brakes, or something more specialist

You can include pictures. Host elsewhere and insert.

I would encourage you to look at the PRS servicing packages. They include many of the basics and you will get an honest assessment of the car. I think they will pick up from the dock for you. When they are gone you can drive to Sheffield

However before buying join the registry and have someone do an inspection

Another vote for PRS.
However, a "few jobs" is ambiguous. There are a lot of seemingly small jobs on 356s that are anything but......
It would make me wonder why the seller would be selling rather than finishing it.
I'm not trying to put you off, just being realistic.

Welcome BTW, nice to have another Yorkshireman.

The worst of the few jobs is to realign the engine lid which is the original lid but hasn’t been lined up properly. Other jobs include, steering wheel needs refurbishing, door hinge pins need touching up with paint as per original, engine sump cover wrong colour. Obviously the headlights need changing for UK spec & I’m having lap belts fitted.

All other jobs are minor.

I will however need to get a radio & speakers fitted if anyone has any suggestions?

I also need advice on anti theft devices.
