Good evening all,I am a new member here,I was told its a great forum to be involved with by a close friend.I am Richard Lepley,I run an engineering business manufacturing motorsport products for porsche race cars,
I am a qualified engineer and coded welder in all aspects of welding,steel/alluminium.
My principle work is car builds and component design and manufacture.
I have had a successful career in driving race/rally cars over the decades(Im 51 now)I was very involved over the years with ford escort RS1600/1800 for many years, then 15 years ago my Dad bought a 911 and suggested I drove it on a test, that was it,I was hooked,so from there on I focused my efforts on this car,the rest is history.I built and ran Jimmy McRae in our 911 historic cars for years(Stobart Transport sponsorship)won many things, myself also,I rallied our 911 and just loved it,won historic rallies along the way too.
Today, not really interested in modern rallying as it is.I am building a retro 911 (early lwb shell,964 3.6 engine on pmo 50’s,full race 930 4speed race gearbox/zf lsd, reiger suspension,my own design bodyshell and FIA cage, all built in house by myself, eligible for retro rallycross, sprints, hillclimbs etc)I really love the idea of turning up with the family to a circuit, doing some racing,Helen and I can share the car and enjoy a family day out.
So there we go,thats me,oh and if of interest,we drive a daily car 2010 diesel cayenne, absolutely love it,never an issue with it.
Regards Richard.
