Hello all

I've been doing a dry run of my handbrake cable parts and whilst I have butterflies x2 , spring , cable guide tube and the white plastic guide that bolts to the banana I can't find anything resembling 69542461100 in my old stuff

I'm guessing it goes in the open end of that white plastic bit allowing the tube to sit through it ?

Any ideas or pics please ?

Thanks matthew

That's the piece I don't have ,,

Do I need it ? ,,, and does anyone know if it fits in the end of the white plastic guide ? Assuming the tube goes through it

If you have a steel arm from a LWB car I would doubt that they were ever fitted.

They are shown on the PET but as 'Part Number Unknown' and I have never seen them used on this generation of car.

They have usually disintegrated on SWB arms and again the system operates without them.

They don't work with Aluminium arms.

Thanks for that

The diagram was misleading me as I do indeed have a steel arm on a lwb car but it didn't have this part when I dismantled the cables .. if I don't need it I will bolt it together without

Thanks for the help

You should have the white plastic part, about 600mm long, 901.424.561.01/562.01, (L/R), 50 and 51 on the diagram above.

It would also help if you add the year and model of your car, either in the text or in your signature, when asking for technical advice, especially when the question is about part numbers.

Thanks Nick,

my car is a 71 T, and yes, I have part no 51 the plastic support, but it's part no 50 that's thrown me off course .On some of the diagrams I've been looking at I got the impression this could've been discontinued in 68

I'm currently putting the car together so if I need them I'll get them but the cable is sitting nicely in place without

Should a 71 T have these ?

Thanks matthew

I have never seen them fitted as once the handbrake is correctly adjusted it will work without them even though there is clearance around the spacer tube.

I wouldn't worry about it and just forget they exist :)
