Re: circa '81, Yorkshire Moors
Great picture. It looks like Bahia red.
Even back then there was obviously a bit of difficulty getting the correct replacement horn grilles/indicator lens combo.
Looks like a cracking car. Thanks for posting.
Regards
Mike

A 2.4S external oil flap purchased from Pete Clark of CC Specialist Cars, Kirbymoorside.
I quite fancied the '75 chocolate brown 911S for sale at the same time, (150hp I believe) but couldn't afford it as more expensive.
Traded it back to CC for a Carrera3

Good question ... ?
Here's an earlier picture that I inherited with the car

Re: circa '81, Yorkshire Moors
I'm the current owner of the ice green Carrera. Or at least I was sent that picture by the previous owner who had inherited it from a previous owner. Small world

The Carrera is currently being restored to original, I have the cookies but I think I’ll keep it on Fuch’s. Cork & tartan but with a biscuit box weave carpet.
Chevy are you a previous owner ?

Re: circa '81, Yorkshire Moors
Hi.
Yes, I was the 3rd owner. Told Elton John was a previous owner but believe it was an Elton John company.
A really, really nice car to use as a daily driver.
Good luck with the restoration and wishing you many mile of enjoyment.
Eventually traded with CC for a 924Carrera GT which in turn was passed (thru CC) to Lord Mexborough as he didn't want to put miles on the one in his collection.
Stayed on the dark side with KAM10X (which has passed thru a couple of recent Silverstone auctions) before returning to 911s.

Re: circa '81, Yorkshire Moors
Thanks for the detail, I assume CC are a dealership or trader, what was the black 'plug' above the rear wheel ? I hope to have the car back in the next 6-8 weeks, all being well

Re: circa '81, Yorkshire Moors
The plug in the rear os wing is a period mod; it's where the (then) latest in-car 'phone arial was fitted.
Seem to recall that the car had been sourced from Nick Faure in London. In addition to the race car activities CC dealt in used Porsches.
CC was formed by Pete Clark (who had reached F3 as a driver) and Dave Cook.
CC (summary thanks to Dave Cook) built and ran Gp 1 Works Ford Capris for Gordon Spice Team with Gordon driving and other drivers included Pete, Chris Craft, Andy Rouse and in subsequent years running Capris for Vince Woodman and Jonathan Buncombe.
Also built and ran Gp A Opel Monza for Tony Lanfranchi, ran Capris for Belga in Spa 24Hours, winning in 1978 Gordon Spice/Teddy Pillette, 1979 and 1980 winning with Jean Michel and Phillippe Martin whilst building Capris for others.
CC also ran various sports cars including Dorset Racing Lola T210 for Le Mans 24 Hours and other long distance races for Tony Birchenough, Pete Clark and Nick Mason and ran the De Cadenet dfv for Belga at Le Mans. Pete raced a 2.7RS (rep) in the Porsche series of the day.
After CC, Pete eventually took up aerobatics which was to claim his life.

Re: circa '81, Yorkshire Moors
HI Chevy thanks for all the history file you've provided, it's really appreciated.
Do you have any more photo's from the time of your ownership ? I'm trying to find out if the tail is original as it doesn't have a front skirt & did it have fogs, front & or rear ? It has a fog pull switch on the dash.
I have found another previous owner, also in Yorkshire, Jonathan Schofield who bought it in 1984, he can't remember when or from whom he bought it from.
My details from DVLA say a previous owner was
Michael Maynard, from Budleigh Salterton & also Beverley who I think bought it in 1982.
Peter Taylor & Co in London bought it in 1978
It's been silver for many years & the interior was a half leather blue.
When Jonathan Schofield had it it was still ice green but with the blue interior
Thanks & Regards

How does one get details of a previous Owner? My 1972 S came to the UK some time in the early 80s from Europe ( car was Italian day one ).
