Bonhams Amelia Island results

Interesting to see a couple of 356 prices at yesterday’s auction. This 58 356A with the added grunt of a non original S90 engine, an older restoration with seemingly nice patina, sold for £60,751.

This marmite 64 356C 236hp Flat 6 “visionary” outlaw (flat floor and weird stance and all) that was not much liked on here sold for £88,292.

The ‘C’ was certainly strongly modded with a couple of big names involved in the process, but it’s a whopping 28k bigger price tag. Maybe this shows the evolving strength of a Rod Emory inspired younger market looking for rather more fun and fizz?!

Yes but that’s my point. Those people won’t be the older or “investment” buyers. It’s the younger money that’s probably paying in this case.
