Tosh It is a sporto! and with 231 bhp, mine has a bit less than that but ia'm sure i have more than 21 ft/lbs of torque I also have 5 gears but one is reverse!

Ridiculous price to ask for a car that needs an awful lot to bring it back to it's SWB glory IMHO

Would be interesting to see the dash etc, could be it is just a later car with the old chassis plate?

It’s a very unusual original colour combination. Burgundy with brown leatherette and black carpets.
Sounds like a very personal choice especially with sportomatic. I wonder who the first (eccentric?) owner was. It’s also an early 68 not a 67 as advertised so that ‘leatherette’ could be elephant hide. It would indeed be very good to see an interior pic.

Yes, Mike, a lovely colour combo!

More photos would be most useful. I can't see anything on the (very few) photos that ties this to being what it says it is. Yes, there's a photo of a '68 CoA and a poor quality photo (of a pre '68 car!) nabbed from Porsche's own website, but there's no clues on the car itself that confirms it is what it says.

I would say 'buyer beware', but at that advertised price, and in that condition, seriously?

So what is this car then? A 912 with an SC body and engine? How can it be advertised as "matching numbers" and where did that certificate come from? Surely the current owner must know? Would an buyer have any comeback?

Thanks for the additional photos Andy. Hilarious! Has seller perhaps got decimal point in wrong place? Is it April 1st already?

I asked the seller if the original Sporto transmission was currently installed - also if the car had been reshelled - his answer:

"The guy I bought it off told me it was rebuilt along with the engine and is original but I have never bothered to check it

I don’t have any better pics as such but if the sun comes out I’ll get it out the garage and take a few

It’s not immaculate but what I do know is that it was converted to a lwb so they could fit the flared rear wheel arches

Apparently it is just a case of fitting the swb trailing arms which you can buy on eBay USA"

Oh, brilliant, that's all fine then. I'd best put some money down on this straight away before someone else gets this beauty.
