Accelerator pump linkage problem

Solex, 1967 912.

The right hand carb - I’ve noticed the link from the accelerator pump has fallen out of the hole. No pump action. Lots of popping and backfire.

I’m guessing there’s a little hole in the L shaped rod that has a securing pin? Access is really tight. Is there any way of fitting the pin without removing the carb? Any advice welcome. Thanks

It’s easier to remove the carb. The right hand one is the easier of the two to remove.

Pops and bangs could be air leaks, running rich, or un balanced carbs

Good advice. Many thanks. I think I can feel an air leak by the inlet manifold when it backfires and puffs.

I’ll take I off and check it out. Thanks again. Gary

Sorted. Gasket was leaking. Easy to remove carb, fix link and get it back on. No we bd smooth and no backfiring. Happy!
