Door switch wiring help

I’ve had to do some repairs to the door switches, and during the course of the work, the wire feeding the door switch fell into the door cavity.

Ha fuckin ha were my initial thoughts

I’ve tried sticking a coat hanger through the hole to fish around for the wire but no joy - Ive no idea which direction the wire even comes from

Can anyone tell me where the wire comes from, and where it breaks through into the door cavity (ideally what color it is) - or at the very least what direction do I need to point my coat hanger at in order to grab the wire

Thanks for your help

HI Sladey - I bought a borescope on ebay for less than a tenner - £8 or £9 from memory, has a fitting to your smart phone and a long flex end, even comes with a hook fitting to help catch the lost wire. Think mine is 5.5mm? Great addition to the workshop....

link to borescope - but loads for sale https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Endoscop ... DvOOwkyPnA

Hi Mark.

If you pull the carpet away from the inside of the door hinge pillar you will
see a single brown wire that comes through the boot floor and passes through
a grommet into the door hinge pillar. That's the wire to the door switch. You
will then be able to figure out where the wire goes.
Good luck.

Andy
