After nearly 20 years of ownership my 83 911SC 3.6 needed some TLC:

Looks great, was it a complete strip down and repaint with engine out and so on, or just the exterior?

Fortunately a restoration thread not justified :)

SC was almost corrosion free having lived most of her days in Singapore so I got away with 'windows out' re-spray and replaced front wings/seals etc for good measure:

Great to have her home:

Next stop the interior:

A productive weekend visiting my mum in Wales collecting enroute my seats from Gerry at Inflex Interiors, Weston on the Green and drop off my old mats at Simon at PF911 in Cardiff....both great Porsche resources :)

Delighted with the seats:

...and looking forward to my new mats in January:

Hi Martin,

While I do love your new seats, I also love the patina of the old leather!

Did you keep the old leather? Might it be good enough to use? I have a set of sports seats to be recovered and if this leather was retrievable I would have a go...!

Cheers,

Al.

Hi Mike,

This was a 'windows-out' cosmetic re-spray not a full restoration so no change to original Slate Blue under hood/engine bay - I was very fortunate that the condition of the bodywork was exceptionally good.

With a 3.6 in the back, 993/turbo brakes and other non-factory tweaks she still remains a 'old git-child' although I do regret part-exchanging the original engine.
