engine lid locking mechanism renewal: how-to needed

Dear members of this aircooled Parish,

after 13 years of issues with my rear engine lid popping open on my '76 C3 targa, and no adjustment in the world able to convince the car otherwise, I took the decision to change the lock pin and mechanism.

Howeverrrrr.... is anyone able to point me to a how-to thread for installing and then adjusting it? My factory porsche manuals are all in storage, my books are borrowed out, and my stupidity has grown ten fold over the years, so a link or a description with a step-by-step guide would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Bert

Undo the 2 bolts, wheedle the old latch out of the cross member, wheedle new one into place and bolt in loosely.
Align with upper pin.
Pass cable through cable clamp.
Pull lever across until you can drop a small pin/screwdriver though the alignment hole. Pull cable tight and clamp.
