HI
I need some help in establishing a paint finish and advice on how best to replicate it. I stripped back some of the orignal sound deadening on the rear parcel shelf, inner rear panels, and found the panels were coated in a light grey textured finish. It has a rough, nearly sandpaper feel to the texture. My plan is to re prime any bear metal then coat with the same or similar finish. This coating seems to be on the inside of the floors, seat bases, rear firewall, parcel shelf and inner rear panels. I can only assume it was/is used to help reduce resonance in the metal as well as offering a protective coating?
Some help in getting something close, or a suitable alternative would be very useful.
See below of close up of rear inner panel.
